Camp Bisco is one the best festivals of any kind in New York and this year it celebrates its twelfth birthday. Not only that but it’s also the seventh anniversary of the fest being hosted at the Indian Lookout Country Club outside of the state capital, the 518, Albany. This year, fittingly as the rising [...]

MONSTA is an OWSLA group consisting of producers Rocky and Rufio with soulful vocalist Skaar. The trio have produced some really fantastic beats, each track highlighting Skaar’s extraordinary vocals over really upbeat and unique dubstep production. I love what Skrillex said about Skaar’s voice: “His vocals are so raw and so pristine he can just walk [...]Read More
Colossal synths combine with a pure dubstep drop on Designer Drugs new collaboration with Alvin Risk. The US-duo have made “Empty Hearted” strong enough to withstand the harshest rave environment. 80s arcade notes drip a somewhat dark melody over the track which also features a healthy (or perhaps an unhealthy) dose of chipmunk vocals one can only assume [...]Read More
Alvin Risk has come out of hiding with a preview of his first original track since the release of his Infinity EP last April. Entitled ‘SKYCLAD,’ the single will be released via OWSLA on March 5th. The preview, posted this afternoon by the argyle sweater-sporting producer, is more of a teaser, in that it irritatingly tantalizes us with ‘SKYCLAD’s’ breakdown and build, but no scrap [...]Read More
Ever since I first starting getting into dubstep, I always found myself asking, “why isn’t this music used in videogames?” A couple years later, we’ve seen numerous electronic music artists begin to contribute songs to some of the biggest titles around. Just recently, 343 Industries released a completely separate remix album in addition to the Halo 4 Soundtrack, [...]
It’s crazy how much EDM has progressed over the years. This style of music would have been brushed aside a mere 5 years ago, but now it’s center stage. Skrillex, [...]

In association with Movement DEMF the two artists will be ringing in the New Year in the birthplace of techno alongisde a flawless list of supporting acts including, Flosstradamus, Alvin Risk, D.I.M., and Destructo. The mysterious Dillon Francis is back along with Kill Paris as they release a new bombshell in the form of a remix of ”Where Did I Go” by OWSLA’s newest producer, Monta . This track has an AWESOME drop and catchy vocal sample. It’s off the Monsta EP that was released today and features Skrillex, [...]
Monsta previewed yet another track off of his upcoming EP today, a remix of ‘Messiah’ with basshead Alvin Risk at the wheel. The original ‘Messiah’ was the definition of uplifting, but no longer now that Risk has put his hands on it. Plenty of face-melting, laser-shooting, drops litter the track, and little remains of the [...]
Don’t even front. Many of you have spent literally countless hours skipping class to pwn n00bs in Halo. It’s fine, battling the Covenant to ensure Earth’s safety is obviously a greater calling than your Heat Transfer class. As such, you are probably aware feverishly awaiting November 6th when the fourth installment of the epic game [...]
You may remember Nina Sky from their "Move Ya Body" days but the Puerto Rican-American twins have moved on. The duo recently released a remix package for their newest single, "HeartBeat" featuring revised offerings from Alvin Risk, Bailey Smalls, and Sizzahandz.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, however, luckily for all the animals of Electronic Zoo, Sunday’s Main Stage will certainly ensure that the weekend goes out with a bang (of confetti, most likely). The superstar studded lineup features some of the biggest names in electronic music, with each producer specializing in his [...]
Halo is back in its fourth installment, and the game's accompanying score is a different affair this time around. Neil Davidge, the lead composer for the project, has expertly crafted 12 original tracks and has employed electronic producers including Sander Van Doorn, Julian Jordan, and Andrew Bayer to help out with remixes.
On the forthcoming Make It Bun Dem After Hours EP, 6 distinctly different producers lend their styles to Skrillex and Damien (Jr. Gong) Marley's collaboration. Culprate, Brodinski, French Fries, David Heartbreak, Flinch, and Alvin Risk all take a stab at remixing the track. Preview them exclusively on Dancing Astronaut.
I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am for this year’s Electric Zoo. I’ve attended the festival since it began in 2009 and it gets better and better every time. Made Event, the team behind EZoo has worked tirelessly with Randall’s Island Park Alliance to ensure that the event runs as smoothly as possible and that the park grounds are [...]
