The beauty of such events like the Winter Music Conference in Miami is that it’s fairly easy to discover new talented artists. All you have to do is steer clear of the headlining acts and staples of the scene that you’ve seen multiple times and venture to the hole-in-a-wall shows. Although far from a hole-in-a-wall, my first night at WMC I cruised to Bardot to catch Yuksek, Cassian, Plastic Plates, Finger Prince, and Mickey. It was at Bardot that I fell in love with Mickey, who in my opinion edged out fellow belgian legends 2manydjs for best set of the week. High praise you say? Well I’m going all in on Mickey because he is the truth… you should follow his every move.
