JSL had the following to say regarding the project via his Facebook:
“Both songs (to me) portray a unique sense of despair as well as an overwhelming inner-peace. The overall theme I had in mind is one of those moments in life where you come to realize things really aren’t the same as they once were and that they may never return to that moment. The single marks a specific point in time for myself as a musician. A closing of a chapter. Initially written as songs for a full-length album, the more I listened, the more I realized these two tracks called for a release all their own. I hope you enjoy.” -JSL
